Launch Party!

So, I kind of promised a giveaway a while back. Things got crazy and I kept putting it off. But I signed contracts with two publishers this summer, and that deserves a celebration. So I thought there was no better time to start it than the eve of my first sale going live for Decadent Publishing's launch. Yes, people, it's tomorrow. Go to www.decadentpublishing.com and buy my story. Or buy someone else's story. Hell, buy a lot of stories!

In fact, I'll give you a little incentive to buy. I've got a couple good old-fashioned paper books to give away.

First up, from the woman ultimately behind me becoming a published author, I give you...

.

A signed copy of Made to Be Broken by the wonderful Kelley Armstrong.

.

.

Next up, early this year, I needed a book to break me out of my reading funk. This one did it.

.

A signed copy of Happy Hour of the Damned by Mark Henry.

.

.

If these were digital copies, I could send them anywhere, but as of right now, I don't have the cash to mail physical books wherever I please, so I need to limit this contest to residents of the US and Canada. I love the rest of the world too, but shipping is just insane.

.

So, to win one of these lovely books, there are a couple things you can do.

1) Comment. Simple, I like comments. They make me happy. So tell me something fabulous that will make me smile. It can be anything from a funny story to a great joke to which Decadent release you can't wait to read. (Worth 1 entry)

2) Buy my story from Decadent. Send me a copy of your receipt at selestedelaney(at)gmail(dot)com (thanks, Laura, for reminding me I needed to put that in here). At this point, I'm flying a little blind, but based on my own previous e-book purchases, it should say what you bought on it. (Worth 3 entries -- because it's my blog and I can do that :P)

3) Buy any other stories from Decadent. Same deal with the receipt. (Worth 1 entry for every title purchased.)

.

I'd love for you to tweet, facebook, etc about the contest, but I'm not sure how to keep track of all that, so it won't get you anymore entries. It will, however, get you my deepest appreciation :)

.

I'll let this run until Friday, August 20 and announce the winners in the post on Saturday the 21st. First winner drawn gets their choice of titles, second winner gets the remaining book.

So, get to commenting and shopping, and let the game begin :)

  5. Is shipping to other countries really that expensive over there? It's obviously more expensive here but not majorly so. Hmmm, maybe I don't want to move country, lol.

Loved the story and awaiting more xx

  6. It would be close to $10, which is more than the price of the book. *hugs* Once I start making some money, I'll open up contests internationally. (Or if you have plans to visit this side of the Atlantic any time soonish, you could have me send it there :D )

  7. Jill Myles did something really smart at Oddshots once. I think it was a contest for an unsigned copy of Magic Bleeds, she used Bookdepository.com. That way, she could have the contest open for international readers, without ruining herself.

( Don't enter me. I live in Sweden! LOL)

Okay, I promise the next contest I run will be open internationally. I'm not sure when it will be, but anyone will be allowed to enter :)

  15. I totally just went for it and bought your book. Even though I haven't gotten into the e-book spirit yet, I'm still forming a collection of OWG members' books. :D Yours will be one of my tester e-books (along with Angela Addams, for now!), to see how I can manage reading them. Looking forward to it. :) And of course, congrats!
